Meet the Coaches

Bob Ralston
As Director of the Academy, Bob Ralston has extensive experience coaching and playing baseball. Ralston begins his 9th year as Head Coach at Clayton Valley High School and his 14th year as a Head High School Coach. His coaching career includes stops at Diablo Valley College, Cal Berkeley and as a manager in the Chicago Cubs organization. As a player, Ralston played at the University of Arizona where ea earned All-American Honors in 1984. He continued his playing career with the Minnesota Twins and Oakland A's organizations for seven years.

Josh Almond
Josh Almond is another Clayton Valley graduate, class of 2001. He played Baseball at Clayton Valley and Whittier College. In addition to coaching at the Academy, Coach Almond is an assistant Baseball Coach and P.E. instructor at Clayton Valley High School.

Geoff Byrns
Geoff Byrns coaches for the Academy during winter, spring and summer breaks. He currently plays baseball at Texas Tech University. Byrns played baseball at Clayton Valley High School before graduating in 2004. He played for Chabot Junior College where he was named player of the year.
